On the heels of its recent expansion to Canada and Switzerland,  and the June announcement that Apple Pay will support ecommerce payments, comes the debut of Apple Pay in France.   The product is now available in the U.S., Canada, China, Singapore, Switzerland, Singapore and France, and Apple has signaled that Hong Kong could be next.

Initially, Mastercard and Visa accounts issued by Casse Epargne, Carrefour, Ticket Restaurant and Banque Populaire will be supported, and 15 significant merchants will participate.  As with other markets, Apple is content to launch in France with a core group of recognized banks and merchants and build out from that foundation.

The announcement was made on Apple’s regional website.
