Visa announced a number of interesting statistics regarding the progress of EMV adoption in the U.S.:

Nearly 327 million Visa chip cards have been issued, roughly 58% of them credit cards and the remainder debit/stored-value.   The U.S. has quickly become the largest chip card market globally, followed by Brazil at 141 million and the UK at 118 million.

Total chip-enabled merchants reached 1.3 million in June, about 28% of total merchants and growing at 100,000 per month.

Chip-enabled merchants have experienced a 35% decline in counterfeit fraud. (See my related blog post here and here.)
